AFI crowd-funds US$2,415 for four CENTEX students
Ayala Foundation successfully raised US$2,415, which will fund the education of four students from the Center of Excellence in Public Elementary Education (CENTEX).
Using a web-based fund-raising strategy called “crowd-funding,” AFI partnered with SocialProject.ph to raise as much as US$6,000, enough to fund 10 students, over a period of two months. CENTEX project was one of SocialProject.ph’s six inaugural causes.
A total of 30 individuals supported the crowd-funding effort over its two-month run. Because of this strong show of support, CENTEX became the only cause to reach two milestones during the campaign. AFI reached 40 percent of its target amount.
SocialProject.ph is a “crowd-funding platform that connects inspiring initiatives for communities in the Philippines to supporters around the world who want to increase the impact of social good projects.” The website advocates “responsible giving” that promotes sustainability, empowerment, and creativity for a better future.
