AFI hosts learning session on social innovation
Ayala Foundation hosted a special interactive sharing session with Dr. Thomas Osburg, director for Europe Corporate Affairs of Intel Corporation, on September 20 at the Ayala Museum.
Zeroing in on social innovations and technology management, Osburg shared Intel’s experience in implementing innovative programs that contribute to social change in the communities that they work with. In his presentation, Osburg stressed the importance of working with partners, as companies and organizations set out to implement social innovations.
“Always remember to do it with partners. We don’t do these things alone. But if we work together, we are able to steer the direction of the program together,” he said.
While companies continue with their corporate social responsibility initiatives, Osburg noted that social innovations also help create shared value.
Osburg shared that organizations should always start with a vision, look for opportunities of cross-collaboration, and think of possibilities of scalability.
“Scalability is important…. how can you continue to enrich the lives of others?” he asked.
In attendance were program managers of Ayala Foundation’s Sustainable Livelihood and Youth Leadership programs, as well as partners from Kickstart, Manila Water Foundation, Bank of the Philippine Island Foundation, Ayala Land, and several social enterprises.
