Betty Narvadez retires

9/8/2008 | Ayala Foundation

Beatriz Narvadez, known to Ayala Foundation management and staff as Betty, retired as manager of the AFI Treasury and Office Services Department on August 1. She was with AFI for 32 years.

Narvadez started as a field and tabulation supervisor for a research project in eastern Visayas and southern Mindanao that was being undertaken by AFI, which at the time was still known as the Filipinas Foundation. She joined AFI's regular staff as a researcher in 1978.

After 13 years as researcher, Narvadez's track in AFI shifted slightly""she was transferred to Finance and Administration as a cashier. While handling financial matters, Narvadez's career continued to rise: she became senior treasury officer/supervisor in 1999, junior manager in 2000, and manager of treasury and office services in 2003.

Narvadez's contributions to AFI went beyond her regular duties. Her years of service with AFI made her an authority in matters relating to AFI history. She served""and continues to serve""as an example to younger AFI staff and partners for her loyalty, dedication to work, and integrity. She also livened up many AFI gatherings, particularly the Christmas parties she emceed.

AFI congratulates Betty Narvadez on a job well done.
