Text2Teach launches official website
Text2Teach, a program that seeks to contribute to the improvement of public elementary education through mobile technology, now shares its experience of providing high-quality educational videos to the public through its official website, www.text2teach.org.ph.
The official website provides information on how Text2Teach reaches out to public elementary schools across the country, so they could have educational videos in English, Mathematics, Science, and Values Education. The site also features an interactive map, which shows the various public elementary schools in the country that now uses Text2Teach technology.
Between 2004 and 2012, Text2Teach reached 552 schools; it intends to reach 850 more between 2012 and 2014.
The site also serves as a valuable resource center, containing user manuals, the results of evaluation results, partner information and testimonials, news, and photo galleries.
Text2Teach is the Philippine name of the global BridgeIT program conceptualized in 2002 by Nokia, Pearson, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Youth Foundation (IYF). It is being implemented locally by an alliance composed of Nokia, Globe Telecom, the Department of Education, Pearson Foundation, and Ayala Foundation. It aims to make a significant contribution to the quality of teaching and learning in underserved public elementary schools in the Philippines.
